GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for all papers

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 Exam is gateway for post graduate admission in all premier institutes in india and also eligible to apply many PSUs recruiting through GATE Score.

The GATE Exam is a single paper online examination of three hours, with 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks.
The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type questions.
In GATE AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE papers, the weightage of marks divided into three sections.
1. Engineering Mathematics will carry around 15% of the total marks
2. General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks
3. Remaining 70% percentage of the total marks is devoted to the subject (technical section) of the paper.
In GATE AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL papers, the weightage of marks divided into two sections.

Remaining 85% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper
